Our People

The Proudies Foundation’s existence is entirely dependent on the dedication and kindness of volunteers who sacrifice their time, expertise, advocacy and fundraising support.

The current and past Members of the Management Committee are made up of people from varied backgrounds and ages, all with one common purpose; to raise money and manage the Foundation, therefore allowing the Proudloves to focus their energies and love on Warrick's day to day needs, rehabilitation and treatments.

He has known Warrick for a number of years when Warrick played for North Albany Football Club and Great Southern Colts side, he was Team Manage for Claremont Football Club Colts when Warrick moved to Perth to play for Claremont. Ian sees this as a way he can assist the Proudlove’s with all the help that they deserve.

Wayne Loxley

Married with 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren, Wayne initially worked in Special Education as a teacher and then had a long involvement in the administration of football and athletics. Wayne became involved with Warrick in a casual caring position and since then he and Robyn are keen to assist the Proudies Foundation in any way possible.

Paul Higginson

Treasurer

Beginning with time as Administrator of Albany Basketball Association from 2003 to 2006 and then as General Manager of Great Southern Football League from 2006, have come to know Warrick and his parents Kevin and Trish through those sports and have maintained contact with the family following their move to Perth following Warrick’s accident. In 2022 was invited to join the committee as Treasurer and have been elected to undertake the role from November of that year. Despite the fact that the need would be best not have arisen, I find the role very fulfilling and appreciate the opportunity afforded to me.

Kevin Proudlove

Family Representative

I am Warrick’s father, I was elected to the Proudies Foundation Committee being the family member representing Warrick.

I was born & raised in Albany where I spent most of my life before Warrick’s accident, I met and was married to Patricia, we had three children who were also born & raised in Albany, Warrick has an older brother Mark & younger sister Alix.

We as a family eventually all moved here to Perth after Warrick’s accident and now call home. Although it has been very devasting circumstances we have been dealt, the journey has been educational & rewarding experience to make friends with a group of such loving & generous people who have given up much of their spare valuable time who are now called the Proudies Foundation Committee.

General Management Committee

Andrew McGovern

General Committee Member

Currently the Managing Director of the McGovern Foundation. Andrew and son Jeremy with the assistance of other community members set up the Foundation. Through their Wanderer Program, they help at risk youth attain their drivers licence, providing them with a mentor and increasing their work opportunities. He previously worked with the Clontarf Foundation for over 19 years, working with “At Risk Aboriginal Male Youth” aged 12 – 18 years.

July 2012.  Initially Dean Horsington (Claremont FC) and I had discussions on how we could help and assist Warrick and his family. The reason for this is that I coached Warrick in Albany for several years and he was a very good friend of our son Jeremy.  Over the next few months, the Proudies Foundation and Board of Directors was created, and I was the inaugural President of the Proudies Foundation. Since then I have remained with the Foundation board holding various positions.

Heather is a retired Football Trainer who first met Mark and Warrick Proudlove while a Trainer for the Great Southern Football Leauges Colts Carnival side for Landmark each year.

Heather has lived in the country in Kojonup for most of her life where everyone supports each other. Heathers decision to come onto the Proudies Foundation Committee was so that she could hopefully help the family and Warrick in some way.
